It is difficult to link Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901) to a specific aesthetic movement. Attracted to the world of entertainment, he distinguished himself particularly in graphic art through the creation of posters. His first poster "Moulin-Rouge, la Goulue" commissioned in 1891 from Lautrec by Zidler, director of the famous cabaret, was a success. It encouraged Lautrec to engage in the creation of posters and more broadly lithographs. Each composition reflects his concern for readability. Drawing always prevails: undulating lines or nervous lines, flat and stylized figures. Between 1891 and 1900, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec created 31 posters and nearly 325 lithographs which allowed him to become known to a wider audience.
