An engineer by training, Jean-Benoît Héron began illustration in 1995. An admirer of the plates of Diderot and d'Alembert's encyclopedia, 19th century architectural drawings and the work of great marine painters, he likes his illustrations to explain things.
There's nothing like a silk square to set off to discover its lighthouses! Brittany first and foremost because it is the French departments that have the most of them. Jean-Benoît Héron is an illustrator more specialized in architectural drawing: watercolor illustration, "encyclopedic" drawing or the layout of monuments and historical sites of France and Europe.
