French painter, born in Honfleur, Eugène Boudin (1824-1898) was described by Camille Corot as the painter "king of the skies". Boudin's sky pastels are like ephemeral pictorial snapshots. He also precisely inscribes, on some of them, date, time, orientation and meteorological indications. The framing refers fully to the sky. A few rare lines at the bottom of the work serve as a hook for the sea sky. Here he only uses a few colors and uses the color of the cardboard support as an additional color according to the reserve process.
