Born in 1980 in Besançon, Thomas Henriot lives between Marseille and Havana. A graduate of the Besançon School of Fine Arts, he made drawing with Chinese ink and brush on paper his favorite field, after deepening his knowledge at the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in 2005. He then left with his brushes and 25m long rollers to the four corners of the world. Morocco, Togo, Argentina, Mali, Mauritania, India, Cuba, Brazil: the Frenchman has put all these beautiful journeys on his canvases. He reformulates the outline of a fluctuating drawing according to political, societal, plastic and literary issues. Like traveling writers, he blends into the decor by setting himself up in the street, on the ground among passers-by, constantly developing a practice of performative drawing, working for several hours in a row on the ground, outdoors, in public spaces.
